"Italy Coast to Coast" hike
a 410km hike from Adriatic Sea to Tyrrhenian Sea.

Starting from Portonovo, a charming fishing village near to Ancona, we will reach Osimo, a city rich in art and history.Through dirt roads through the gentle hills of the Marche we will touch Filottrano and Treia, a Roman city on an ancient road between the Marche and Umbria.
From there we will walk towards San Severino Marche, a city of art at the foot of the Apennines, which we will face in the next stage towards Pioraco, in a path of great historical and naturalistic value.
We will continue going up the valley of the Potenza river and, facing an easy and ancient pass, we will reach Nocera Umbra, city of waters.
Along magnificent and always easily identifiable paths, we will go around Mount Subasio to reach Assisi. A privileged destination for pilgrims from all over the world, it is a Roman and medieval city, capable of concentrating in itself art, history, culture, spirituality.
We will then cross the Umbrian Valley to Bevagna, a splendid medieval town, and Gualdo Cattaneo; to finally reach Todi, "the pearl of Umbria" with numerous reasons of interest.
Crossing the Tiber River Park, we will dive into breathtaking nature.
From the natural balcony of Civitella del Lago, we will be fascinated by the view of the Corbara lake; and if the amenity of the place will not hold us any longer, we will continue to Orvieto, an Etruscan, Roman, medieval and Renaissance city on an imposing tuff cliff.
Along an Etruscan and then Roman road, we will resume the trail towards Bolsena, on the lake of the same name, where the Eucharistic miracle of 1263 took place which led to the institution of Corpus Domini.
We will then continue along a stretch of the Via Francigena, and turning west we will reach Onano, a nice town in the Tuscia area of Viterbo.
Another simple stage will lead us to Sorano, the first of the “tuff cities”, which we will reach after visiting an interesting rock settlement.
For the next two stages we will move along the Vie Cave, roads that the Etruscans had dug in the tuffaceous walls of these areas. In this landscape dominated by the Etruscan element, and among magnificent vineyards, we will then reach Sovana, an unmissable little medieval jewel and very important Etruscan place.
Still through Vie Cave, we will arrive in Pitigliano, the “city of tuff”, with magnificent views.
Through dirt roads along the Fiora valley, we will touch Manciano, the “balcony” on the Maremma; then diving into shady woods we will reach Capalbio, from where we will smell the scent of the now very close Tyrrhenian Sea.
An exciting stage will finally lead us to Orbetello, the final destination, after having crossed the Tombolo di Feniglia, an exceptional humid environment of European importance.
